02 Dec TAFE Queensland SkillsTech partners with national parts supplier
Today, Queensland’s leading provider of automotive training, TAFE Queensland SkillsTech (SkillsTech) announced their partnership with automotive parts supplier ACM Parts to support the next generation of automotive technicians.
SkillsTech Automotive Business Manager Chris Kroehn says the partnership ensures our students will have access to train on a broad suite of high-quality automotive parts.
ACM Parts has committed to providing car bodies, auto parts and an annual student prize to support SkillsTech’s delivery of more than 70 automotive courses, including TAFE at School programs, pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships and post trade training, benefiting over 2000 students a year.
“We are pleased to have the support of a national sponsor who can provide our TAFE Queensland students with current automotive components and leading edge technology,” Mr Kroehn said.
“Our teachers are looking forward to utilising the resources ACM Parts will bring to SkillsTech.”
In a unique twist, ACM Parts will also donate a car body and parts to enable Skillstech apprentices to build a drag racing car.
ACM Parts CEO Mike Kirkman said the sponsorship was part of a broader national program to support TAFE providers and their students.
“ACM Parts is a national business employing hundreds of people. We want the best people to enter the automotive industry and that starts with the provision of high quality education,” Mr Kirkman said.
“To get the most out of their training, students need ready access to the best parts and equipment and that’s what this partnership will provide. It’s an investment in the future of the automotive industry, and ACM Parts’ future workforce.”
ACM Parts was recognised as an ABA100 Winner in The Australian Business Awards 2016 in the categories of Service Innovation and Business Innovation.
“ACM Parts is a progressive business that leads the field and our partnership with SkillsTech symbolizes this.”
